Being a superhero has it’s perks. You get invited to fancy parties and dinners. Over the weekend Cupcake went to a rehearsal dinner for a friend. He sure cleans up nice. He was a little hesitant about the Pink and Gold color scheme but he can make anything look good.

So on my way to deliver the cupcakes for the rehearsal dinner my car broke down. Not just regular broke down, but the drive belt broke. For anyone who has not experienced the joy that is a broken belt driving 70 mph on the highway you are not missing anything. The drive belt runs everything, power steering, radiator...everything. It was horrible, but luckily my husband came picked Cupcake and I up and we got to the rehearsal dinner in time. That was the bad stuff now on to the good stuff.

I was featured on the Cupcakes Takes the Cake Blog. I read this blog religiously. I am so giddy it is crazy. I am certain that my husband is getting annoyed with me. This is one of the coolest cupcake sites there is. You should check it out, in case you haven’t already. As my brother would say “w00t!”

Cupcake..the new costumed hero

Last night Cupcake was visited by a friend telling him about an old colleagues murder...wait no that wasn’t Cupcake that was Nite Owl. Cupcake was fighting a different type of crime. It seems someone had stolen the vanilla and he had to get to the bottom of it.

I bought 2 bottles of Vanilla last time I was at the store. I love a certain type of Clear Vanilla and the only place I can get it is in Fort Worth. The first bottle was great, the amazing flavor that I am used to. The second one I opened and tried to use in my vanilla frosting. I tasted the frosting and all I could taste was butter. I added a little more, nothing happened. I added another tablespoon. Still just butter. By this point we have 4 tablespoons of this amazing vanilla and I can’t taste anything. I finally tried the vanilla itself and it tastes like nothing. It doesn't taste like alcohol. It doesn't taste like vanilla. It tastes like nothing. I was furious. It didn’t help that I was trying to do my Valentines orders and Niece’s birthday cupcakes. For the Valentine’s order I ended up using regular vanilla (instead of clear) and added pink dye to cover up the color that had been added due to the vanilla not being clear. Everything turned out ok but I still wanted answers, That is why I turned it over to Cupcake to deal with.

Cupcake’s Alter ego...cookie

By day Cupcake is the mild mannered Cookie. Cookie is not the most rowdy guy in town but he knows how to have fun. He spends most of his time with others like him. Recently in Cupcake Town there has been temporary residents by the names of Thin MInt and Trefoil. Cookie likes them since they are a lot like him, but he was hoping that one of his friends from Scratchtown would come visit. He didn’t know if he wanted to invite Cinnamon or Vanilla so he invited both. Wow what a visit.

I made cinnamon swirl cookies last night and they were amazing. To quote Theresa they tasted just like a cinnamon roll. I still have some of the dough left, but I can’t decide if I am going to make the rest. They are really good, but I ate 5 of them last night. I hesitate to think how many points that must add up too. Good thing I joined a gym.

So...I am a giant nerd. I am ok with this and I have accepted it. Some might say I embrace it. I might say I embrace it. I love Batman. When I was in high school I would race home so I could watch Batman the Animated Series. I fell in love with it and have a mild obsession with all things Batman now. I am not a purist though. I don’t only go for the comics. I have the legos, I have the Barbie, I even have a Two-Face nutcracker. Any way you may be wondering what all this has to do with Cupcake...

I have decided that Cupcake is a Super Hero. He has a side kick named Brownie. A love interest named Ice Cream. I haven’t come up with more of a plot than that but I will. Stay tuned and you will learn who their nemesis is and how they plan to “Tin Foil” his evil plot....
